Unicorn & Flowers

Unicorn&Flowers01

"I wanted to create an elegant illustration with a Unicorn (in my own personal style) so I started by drawing the mystical creature and then, on another sheet, I did the flowers.
With the use of a program for digital colouring, I merged the two draws and then colored the result. This is how it became.
Hope that you like it! ^_^

(you can find this design on my Zazzle shop! ^_^)

The unlucky hunt

Nature Frame01

"I always liked to write simple nursery rhymes about animals (real or fantastic).
I started when I notice that is more rewarding to illustrate something invented on my own, than some character or story already existing. ^_^
The ideas come from everyday events, just like seeing a little jumping spider on the window glass (like in this case). Cute! <3

Sweet & Cute Dragon

Draghetto05

"I wanted a cute character for a new collection of objects to upload on Zazzle.
In the beginning he came out as a doodle on a piece of sheet, then I drew this one coloring it by PC.
Sweet & cute! Find him on my Zazzle shop! ;)

Fairy with flower

Fatina con fiore01

"I admit that she came out from nowhere... I simply put the pencil tip on the sheet and she appeared from herself! XD I couldn't do anything else than color her! Ahahah!

Crystal Unicorn

Crystal Unicorn01

"I just can't stop drawing Unicorns! HAHA! XD
This time I wanted to set one in a Winter environment, so I decided to put it in a hellebores frame and give him horn and clogs made by crystal/ice. ^_^

Favourite Reality

Fairy with book01

"Here is another t-shirt design posted on Qwertee.
I wanted to make a contrast between the sentence and the image: in fact we (as humans) many times say that life in books is much better because of the adventure, the magic and the marvelous worlds they can bring you in.
But, what happens when is a fairy that says that? ^_^
This is a way to say that nobody is ever happy of what they already have. ^_^' ehehe!

The Jade Vine maiden

Jade Vine Maiden01

"I recently found on internet the existence of a stunning and rare flower called Jade Vine.
As I saw the picture of it, an idea popped into my head and so this illustration was born. ^_^
It took me almost a week to finish it also because it's pretty big for my standard (45x15cm - I tend to work on waaay smaller canvas!) and also because of my usual fear of ruin everything! AHAHAH! XD
Hope that you appreciate it! ^_^

Cute Honey Pot Design!

Vasetto di Miele01

"Here's another design added on Qwertee:
This is the fourth design that I made (the third one is pretty gloomy, so I didn't posted it).
This time, I wanted to make something cute and sweet! IHIHIHHI! ^_^

Colouring illustration!

FantasyWorld01

"Lately I had the chance to hear again two of my best friends in High School. It took me back to those days...how nostalgic! ;(
It remembered me the days where I used to draw every sort of fantasy creatures and then they colored them for me. I had so much fun!!! ^_^
I notice that nowadays adult colouring books are pretty popular, so I decided to try to create an image that could be fun to color! :D
If anyone is interested, just save the image and have fun to color it!
I'd love to see the result! ;)

PS: from now on, I'm gonna use my renewed logo! XD Yeeeeh!

Tecnique used: pencil and ink."

Summer is in the air...

Unicorno01

"I tried to give to this Unicorn an aura of shyness and kindness by giving her a cute expression with her blushing cheeks and her long eyelashes.
I also wanted to celebrate Summer using warm colors. ^_^ IHIHIH!
I thought of a pajama with this image on (you can see the prototype below).... I really want it! *__*

(PS: I found the Pattern that decorate the pajama on internet years ago... don't remember where, though! :P)

Hope that you like it! ;)

Puppies in the garden

Cane e Gatto01
"I drew those two by taking the hint from my current dog and my former cat, imagining them as puppies.
I'm going to turn them into two little painting to hang on my kitchen wall...well, this was the first idea... I still don't know if I'm really going to do so! :P EHEHE!

Tecniques used: colored pencils & watercolors."

Passionflower's Fairy-Dragon

Draghetto03

"I thought that it would be nice to make a series of painting about Fairy-Dragons and Flowers.
So, after the Roses, I decide to draw one of my favorite flowers: the Passionflower.
Since Passionflowers have a very exotic appearance, I imagined that their Fairy-Dragons (who are also their guardians and caretakers), should camouflaging like many exotic animal are used to, in order to survive. ^_^
It took me about 7 hours to finish it.
I can't wait to draw another Fairy-Dragon... I only need to decide which flower should I chose...Uhm.... It's hard! XD

Tacniques used: colored pencils, watercolors and poster paint on canvas."

The Lazy Bee

L'ape pigra01

"Now that the illustrators that will be exposed in this year's gallery at the Children's book fair in Bologna are chosen (and - of course - I'm sadly not one of them), I can show one of the 5 illustrations that I sent, here on my blog. ^_^
I'll post my favorite: the snake and the bee.
The theme is taken from one of Horacio Quiroga's tales described in the book South American Jungle Tales, in particular The lazy bee.
It took me several hours to finish it, because I used a very slow tecnique, which is engraving on cardboard.
All the white parts that you can see in fact, are in reality a hole on the cardboard.
Even if I wasn't chosen, I'm still happy because I had fun to do my illustrations, so I'm proud that I have tried my best. EHEHEH!

Tecnique used: engraving on black cardboard."

Roses Fairy-Dragon

Draghetto02
"In the last weeks I found myself drawing cute dragons everywhere! (Well, actually I TRY to make them cute... ^_^' eheheh!).
This time I tried to represent a Fairy-Dragon (so a simple dragon but with butterfly wings).
I decided to draw it in a rose garden because I'm not so good in draw roses (they usually seem like a bunch of savoy cabbages! BUAHAHAHAHAH!  Dreadful! XD), so it was also an excuse to improve. ^_^
It took me 2 days to finish it, but it was quite fun to colour it!

Tecnique used: watercolors, coloured pencils and poster paint on canvas."

Sitting Fairy

Fatina02
"I started by drawing a simple girl, but as usual she became a fairy! IHIHIH XD
I wanted to give her an appearance of shyness through her posture and the look in her eyes, moreover I find her big ears, eyes and feet kinda cute!  ^_^
( I also wanted to try a little bit of prospective, which is one of my weakness ç_ç... I'm still trying to improve my skills! So please, be gentle...IHIHIHI! ^_^)
Tecnique used: pencil."

Feelings on a wooden board...

Targhetta Uccellini01
"This was my Christmas present for my grandparents (that, as who knows me knows, are German) that this year I couldn't visit. I gave the present to my sister that went in Germany and gave it to them in my stead. ^_^
The sentence means " We always think about you" and the birds and the trees represented all around it, are symbols of the 4 seasons. I did it in order to give an idea of time that flows, which emphasize the main sentence. ^_^
I almost cry out of happiness when they told me that they really liked it. ç_ç Soooo happyyyy!!!

Basket of nature

Basket of Nature01

"Oh my gosh, I can't believe that the last time that I wrote a Post was 5 month ago! >_<
Actually I was sooo busy that I didn't have the chance to notice it... ehehe!  ^__^'
Well, I now post the very last thing that I've done, that is a wood squared basket that I've decorated for my boyfriend's mother (pyrography).

On each side I draw different animal and plants, as you can see on the picture:

1) Butterfly and pansy
2) Bees and mallow
3) Ladybugs and clovers
4) Snails and  trefoils

I chose natural images because the basket was very simple and somehow rustic.

Hope that you like it! ^_^"

Welcome wood plate

Targhetta pirografo01

" I made this plate in order to put it on the entrance of my future home. ^_^
I bought the wood plate on a website of hobbies and bricolage and then I draw the birds on a cherry branch (and "Welcome", of course ) using pyrography.
Then I covered all with a special paint for wood, in order to protect it from rain ecc.
I can't wait to see it on my home's wall! XD
Hope, as always. that you like it! ^_^ "

Season of memories

Art Nouveau Frame01

"Last week, talking to my father about the nice weather, he started to say aloud a doggerel about the months of the year that his father was used to recite.
He was a bit disappointed because he couldn't remember it in full, so I decided to search for it on the internet, and I found it! ^_^
When I read it out loud for him, he was almost moved .
Seeing him like that, I promised him that I would have done a nice frame for that doggerel, so that he could always remember it.
Yesterday I worked all day to finish it in time, 'cause today is Father's day.
This is the result. ^_^

I took the hint for the natural frame from this image found on the internet:

http://static3.depositphotos.com/1000324/103/v/950/depositphotos_1033511-Frame-four-seasons.jpg

Than I've personalised it putting other particulars all in a Art Nouveau style (that I love!).

I worked on a A3 sheet using pencil, ink and watercolors."
