"I drew this cute penguin's puppy some times ago. Now that it started to be cold outside, it's time to let him coming out! IHIHIH! ^_^

My first idea was to draw something to put on a sweatshirt, so I decided to represent something about cold or winter and then, suddendly, this penguin popped out! XD ahahah!

The first picture is my drawing (made by pencil, ink and PC) and the second the prototipe of the sweatshirt that I would like to make. ^_^

Note: the sweatshirt that I took as sample is a Bench's sweatshirt and I found it looking in the internet. ^_^ It seems so cozy!!! XD"

I really like mugs where the picture are as sketches on paper so I decided to put Mushy-Mushy and Celery first met, using this kind of tecnique. ^_^

"I actually wanted to draw a little pig, because I had an inspiration by looking at my sister's cake photo. In fact she did a wonderful cake using sugar paste for her husband's birthday (that loves pigs!) that was also very good! *__* awww!
But as always, Mushy-Mushy came over! Ihihih! I really can't get rid of him! XD AHAHAHA!

"As everybody can see, Mushy-Mushy has many friends in the enchanted forest where he lives. ^_^
Before meeting Celery, Mushy-Mushy felt very lonely, also because his friends had already found their aides.
A fairy of a tree saw him crying all alone on a branch, and decided to hear his story and to console him. ^_^ Nice, isn't she?!
I only used pencil for this work. ^_^"

Mushy-Mushy's Friends03

 "I thought that there were too few girls in Mushy-Mushy's World. So I decided to draw also Chummy-Chummy and Yummy-Yummy's girlfriends. ;) IHIHIH!

Milky-Milky is Queen Lumena and King Saltus's daughter, so basically she's the princess. Her best friend is Chummy-Chummy of course! ^_^

Champy-Champy is a good mushroom girl that is in love with Yummy-Yummy and likes to cook for him. ^_^

Milky-Milky's aide is a emerald-green scarab named "Khepy" while Champy-Champy's aide is a centipedes named "Longy". ^_^"

Three brand new characters!

Mushy-Mushy's Friends02

"Mushy-Mushy's world is becoming bigger and bigger! XD
These three new characters are "Flowy-Flowy", which is Oaky-Oaky's wife; "King Saltus" (or "Walny-Walny") that obviously is Queen Lumena's husband; and "Glancy-Glancy", that is Mushy-Mushy's girlfriend. ^_^

Flowy-Flowy has a bee as aide named "Worky", King Saltus a little jumping spider named "Quicky" and Glancy-Glancy an ant, named "Crumby".

Flowy-Flowy is a good old lady that loves taking care of her little garden and of her husband. She also is the healer of all the forest and heals animals, plants and mushrooms. ^_^

King Saltus is a very calm and gentle king. He loves his wife as nobody else in the world (the same is for Queen Lumena, of course! ), and cares of his people. He's strong, brave and wise, as a good king should be. ^_^

Glancy-Glancy is a shy and reserved little girl-mushroom that finds in Mushy-Mushy, from the very first time that they met, her soulmate. She doesn't speak much in public, but she's always there if Mushy-Mushy needs help. ^_^

So, this is a short summary of these new characters's personality... Hope that you like them all! XD"

Funky Field Mice!

"I first want to say that this picture isn't a way to make fun of someone, in this case a very popular Italian pop band called "I Cugini di Campagna".
The idea of making this drawing is born by the fact that the word "cugini" makes rime with "topini", and also because "topo di campagna" it's the italian way to say "field mouse". So "Topini di campagna" is the italian for "Little field mice". ^_^
I thought that it can be a cute way to make a tribute to this band (that my mom loved, expecially for the song "Anima mia") but I want to apologise to them and to all their fans if this picture makes them angry or disappointed. ^_^

Two years ago, I participated at a contest where you had to design a coloured elephant. It was organized by the city of Milan where lots of elephant statues (in real sizes!) were placed all over the city streets. ^_^ It was fun!
My design was not chosen, but I was already happy to draw my very special Elephant! XD
They also asked to write a short sentence to describe your work. Mine was: "What if Annibal had marched through Switzerland?"
This is why I drew a Cheese Elephant (full of little mice)! Ahahaha! XD

"This time Mushy Mushy finds himself under the sea guided by a Mermaid. Is he searching for someone in trouble or is he only enjoying a dive in the deep blue sea? Who knows! ^_^

Queen Lumena

"Queen Lumena (whose first name was Blassy-Blassy, before being queen), is the guide of all the mushrooms of the forest.
She is Spory-Spory's older sister and has the duty to keep peace in her kingdom. She's also a mentor and likes to hear others problems and doubts in order to help who's in trouble.
Queen Lumena is a very gentle soul and loves every single living being, first of all her little sister Spory-Spory.
She has as aide a white moth named Luxy.

P.S. Every mushroom can make arms appear but most of them don't use them so much, so they make them appear only when they really need them.
Queen Lumena is the one who is used to keep them always. ^_^ "

"This cute little mushroom is Mushy-Mushy's brother! He's name is Chummy-Chummy.
He still can't talk or walk straight but he really loves his older brother and likes to spend time with him.
The ladybug on his head is "Lucky" and she is also his nanny, who takes care of him wherever he goes. ^_^
As he's still so young, his head is not as red as Mushy-Mushy's, and in fact he has a dark orange colour.
He can't separate from his pacifier! Ihihihi! ^_^

"These are Mushy-Mushy's Friends!!!
Oaky-Oaky is the oldest and wisest of all, Spory-Spory is his niece.
Tally-Tally is the tallest and Yummy-Yummy is the sweetest of all. ^_^
They are all good friends of Mushy-Mushy and, just like him, each of them has its own little friend. ^_^
"Fasty" the silverfish is Oaky-Oaky's friend, "Pretty" is Spory-Spory's butterfly.
"Jumpy" is Tally-Tally's cricket and "Leafy" is Yummy-Yummy's caterpillar.

"In my last year of Academy, I participated to a project that was called "Gioco dell'Oca Lettrice". Everybody had to think about a design for the cover for the box of the game and I chose to make it in Art Noveau style.
So, I drew a goose that is reading a fairytale book to her babies. ^_^ eheh!
I used the technique of etching on acetate, coloring it by PC. "

"Her name is Lòmea Hiswe (that in Quenya, the language of Elves means "Twilight Fog") and she is my character in a role-playing game that I'm playing with my boyfriend, my sister and her husband and my friends. ^_^
She is a half-elf that was cursed by someone that she still doesn't know, and his searching is the reason why she is travelling.
She also wants to get back to normal, in order to go back to her forest where she was living as priestess.
Now that she is cursed, she is almost tall 1,80m and has many powers deriving by the wolf. ^_^
She is ashamed of her aspect and so she tries everytime to cover as much as possible herself when she is sorrounded by many people.
She is a great warrior and also a good magician, she can talk to animal and hear thing from an high distance.
The more I go on with the RPG, the more her personality grows and gets deeper.
I really love playing RPG because is a game based on imagination and everything is possible! *_*

"During a workshop with the illustrator Maja, she gave us the task to think of 12 illustrations for a calendar that were part of a bigger illustration. The difficult was that each and every illustration had to represent something to his own.
So, at the end, everyone had 12 "stories" that were part of a bigger story. ^_^
It was sooo exciting!!! XD
I had the idea to show what really happen during the 10th of August, "St. Lorenzo's night".
As every italian knows, St. Lorenzo's night is the night of the shooting stars.
In my illustration the stars are falling some of them hitting the floor, some other on the trees and one is also helped by a bat! XD ahahah!
The funny thing is that people don't notice it. ^_^
The black and white picture is the project in total and i used ink.
For the coloured illustration, I used pencils."

"In my latest post I said that almost all the illustrations of my thesis project were on canvas and coloured with watercolor and pencils...
This because there are also some Silhouette in shades of green that help to understand the story, but making the reading more fluid.
I used black ink on paper and, using the PC, I turned the black color into green, and made some levels to get the illusion of depth. ^_^"

"She actually is a side character of my story, but everybody fell in love with her cute glance. Ihihih! ^_^
She is one of the "troubles" that I was talking about in the previuos post, even if she was only searching for some tasty leaf ! XD ahahah!

My Thesis project

"As yesterday I finally did my thesis, I can now show the illustrations of my project. ^_^
This in particular is the first one.
The story is about a little pixie that wants to know how to be an adult, so he decide to begin a journey to find it out without anybody's help.
During this journey, he meet someone very special that wants to stand by his side and also so many troubles to go through! XD
I used watercolor and coloured pencils on canvas for almost all illustrations of the book."

"Last Christmas I decided to send to all my friends and relatives a Christmas card made by me. ^_^
I drew an angel in the snow surrounded by animals with a candle in her hand.
I did it using ink, watercolor and finished by PC.
Is it Christmassy enough? ihihihi! ^_^"

"Mushy-Mushy is always in my mind! XD
Actually this picture was born as a doodle made on a cardboard on my desk that I use as mousepad. I did it with a simple black pen. As my boyfriend saw it, he said that it was cute and that I had to put it in my blog.
So I decided to coloring it and, as the cardboard was really thick, I chose watercolors. ^_^"

"I drew this cute donkey for my sister's birthday card. I chose this animal because she loves it so much that has a collection of peluches and little statues of it. ^_^
I also took inspiration by My Little Pony, putting on his leg a symbol (a four-leaf clover) in order to bring her luck. eheh! ^_^

"One day a classmate of mine, told me and the other girls of the group that she was pregnant. We were all so excited! XD
So we decided to make her a little present for her baby, which was a cute pijiama and a congratulations card with an illustration made by each of us.
This in particular was my illustration. I made a baby dressed like a pixie on a red leaf that is sleeping. ^_^ eheh! If I remember well, I chose to put it in an Autumn atmosphere, because the baby should have born in that season... ^_^ eheh.
I used ink and I coloured it by PC."

"Every year there is a tiny robin that flies in my garden and his presence tells me that winter has arrived.
Almost every day I feed him with some crumb of bread that I usually leave on my balcony and, when I turn around to go back inside the house, he flies over the bread and starts to eat.
When I look back at him, he's watching me with his little round black eyes, just like he wants to say "Thank's a lot!".
 I think that Spring is coming soon because I don't see him for days... I hope to see him next year too. ^_^

"One day the professor asked the class to do five illustrations of a book that we wanted.
At that time I was reading Fedro's fables, so I decided to work on it.
One of the stories that I chose was the one of The deer at the fount because it teaches you to appreciate more also your defects because one day they could be useful.
To give to the illustrations an "aurea of oldness" (as I call it), I chose to make them seem like they where made by etching, but actually I used a normal ink with a nib. ^_^ eheh!"

"The thing that I always loved about pixie's stories was that, in the illustrations, they were always smiling at work.
It seems like they're having fun for just doing something toghether! ^_^
I wanted to convey the same atmosphere of joy and peace that this stories always made me feel while reading.

Icarus and the Labyrinth

"For my first Thesis I chose to illustrate a book that I really appreciate because of its surreal backgrounds and, first of all, because it was about a labyrinth, the main theme of my project.
The book's title is Der Spiegel im Spiegel written by the german Michael Ende (one of my favorite writers ever!).
This in particular is the cover of the book, where I chose to describe one of the most famous labyrinth in the history: the one of the legend of Icarus.
It was a very hard job, but I like it very much because this book gives you a lot of inspirations! ^_^
In this work I used coloured pencils, felt-tip pen and PC."

"I drew this cute couple of dachshunds because my sister in law asked me to do a birthday postcard for her father.
These in fact were his beloved dogs; so she gave me a picture of them in order to allow me of taking hint from it. The technique I used is coloured pencils."

"As everybody can see, I love Fantasy and, most of all, stories about fairies and pixies.
Since I was a child, parents and relatives were used to buy me illustrated books full of colourful pictures about "the little people" and all the animals of the forest.
This is the reason why I started to draw this kind of characters and topic.
In this picture you can see how I imagine pixies: little kids with green skin that likes to laugh and play. ^_^
My thesis book is based on the adventures of one of this pixies. But I'll post it later... ehehe! XD

In this version I first used the technique of etching on zinc, and then I colored it with watercolor and pencils.
It's a bit more complicated and a bit more detailed than the first one.

"Hello everybody! This is the very first post on my blog, so I want to use it to present one of my works. The little mushroom (that you can also see on the top of this page) is called "Mushy - Mushy" and the little snail on the top of his head is "Celery", his best friend (it's a female).
This is the first drawing that I've ever done about them. Hope that you like it!
I took his name not only from the English word "mushroom" but also from the sound of the words that Japanese people use when they answer the telephone. Which I found very cute! Ihihihi!
